Lisa Lavoie

Lisa Lavoie is a Senior Consultant with Chartis, specializing in regulatory compliance, patient safety, infection prevention and process improvement. She brings more than 20 years of experience helping healthcare organizations strengthen quality management systems, meet complex regulatory requirements, and build sustainable cultures of safety. Lisa partners with healthcare leaders to assess clinical and operational risk, identify regulatory and accreditation gaps, and translate requirements into practical, scalable solutions. Her work includes leading enterprise-wide compliance assessments, supporting CMS Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission and DNV NIAHO accreditation readiness, and designing corrective and preventive action plans grounded in Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO 9001 principles. She is known for her ability to synthesize complex data, engage multidisciplinary stakeholders, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to executive leadership and governing boards.

Prior to joining Chartis, Lisa served as Executive Director of Quality and Patient Safety Officer for a multi-hospital health system, where she was responsible for infection prevention, risk management, accreditation, process improvement, and patient safety strategy. In this role, she acted as the system Patient Safety Officer and ISO 9001 Quality Management Representative, led regulatory compliance across diverse care settings, and supported the design and activation of a new hospital campus. Earlier in her career, Lisa held progressive leadership roles in clinical excellence, quality and patient safety, infection prevention, and public health preparedness, including service with the Florida Department of Health.

Lisa’s expertise spans high-reliability care, safety culture assessment, infection prevention and epidemiology, accreditation readiness, regulatory response, and performance improvement. She frequently supports client education and capability building through safety science training, executive briefings, and frontline engagement.  

Lisa holds a Doctor of Health Sciences with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Behavior, a Master of Public Health, and degrees in nursing and biology. She is a Registered Nurse and maintains multiple professional certifications, including Certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), and Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
